BURNHAM’S Royal Clarence Hotel has sold for £380,000.

The deal was brokered by Simon Wells, director at sector specialists Colliers International Hotels, and the new owner is understood to have big plans for the 17-bedroom property.

Mr Wells said: “We had a very good response from the market and the purchaser has a long term vision for the property.

“There is certainly an appetite for businesses at the moment. I would even go far as to say that the viewing levels generally are the best we have seen since the peak of the market six years ago.”

Built in around 1796, the hotel was the first to be constructed in Burnham and took advantage of the view over Burnham bay.
