City have asked the Football League for permission to postpone tomorrow's home game against Bristol Rovers 24 hours early.
With heavy snow hitting the district - and more on the way - there is little chance of the match going ahead.
The pitch itself is covered but the biggest concerns are the large amounts of snow that have drifted into the stands and the conditions of the approach roads to Valley Parade.
A City spokesman said: "With the heavy snow being forecast for the next 24 hours, an early request to postpone the game has been made to the Football League.
"As an added precaution, Bristol Rovers have been advised to delay their departure."
