James Meredith back in Bradford City squad

James Meredith James Meredith

James Meredith is back in the City squad for Saturday’s trip to Exeter.

The left back has not played since New Year’s Day after being struck down by glandular fever.

But having safely come through two reserve outings this week, Meredith will travel with the first-team squad to Devon tomorrow.

Phil Parkinson confirmed: “There doesn’t seem to have been any reaction in terms of his illness and James is determined to contribute in the remainder of the season.

“He is a good player to have back and we’re really pleased he is available again.”

Good stuff. Get him in the team immediately. His link up play with the wingers is what we've been lacking in recent months.

'JM'has been brilliant in the past for us and, despite missing a porrton of the season, is a contender for 'Player Of The Year,' Great to see him back!!

Would like to see him on the bench. Brought on when we need to shore up the defence at a winning stage of the match.
*
It is always tougher returning from any illness or injury--but I too am delighted to see him returning to the first team.

Good to see James back. He has been badly missed. We need his energetic forward runs from left back. It might just inspire the rest of the team to get forward and attack. We need to put teams under pressure. Let's go for it. Back 4 should be Darby, meredith, Davis and McCardle. Johnnie Mac in goal.

You wanted Parkinson sacked anyway. You don't want him at the club full stop.

Some of our best pay this season has come with Meredith overlapping and getting crosses in. Also last week against Aldersh1t, we looked most likely to score once Darby was getting forward and getting crosses in. This approach is exciting to watch too, although against Exter away it might be a bit of a risk. Mind you, we're probably at a stage where it's worth gambling now.
