'Silsden don't know where their next point is coming from'
Silsden suffered their fourth defeat on the spin in the North West Counties League Premier Division last night and face a very difficult home game on Saturday.
Fifth-placed Winsford United are the visitors, and with the Cobbydalers on such a poor run - they have taken just one point from the last available 30 - and with confidence low after their 4-1 midweek home loss to neighbours Colne, it could be another tough afternoon.
Club spokesman Jim Rosser said: “It’s hard to see where the next point is coming from with Winsford, Maine Road and Runcorn Linnets in the next three games.
“Andy (caretaker manager Geary) has done what he can and has brought some older heads in to try to settle the side down but we still look shaky. I think a lot of that is down to a lack of confidence because of the run we have had.
“When your luck is out it’s out and I don’t think we have been getting the rub of the green. The people at Colne said at half-time on Wednesday that we had had more chances than them; we were 3-0 down!
“I’m not saying they (Colne) didn’t deserve their win on the night because they did but it could have been so much closer than 4-1.”
