Cup derby for Keighley Cougars at Siddal

The Cougars have been drawn at Halifax amateur side Siddal in the third round of the Tetley’s Challenge Cup.

Paul March’s side have endured a dismal start to their Kingstone Press Championship campaign, losing their opening six games.

They will hope for some much-needed respite in the cup as they seek to avoid an embarrassing exit in what promises to be a mouth-watering derby.

Former winners Halifax were handed a home draw against cup new boys Oxford.

Former Leigh and Oldham boss Tony Benson is coach of Oxford, who are one of three additions to Kingstone Press Championship One this year.

The other newcomers – Hemel Stags and University of Gloucestershire – have both been paired with amateur opposition in Ince Road Bridge and Skirlaugh respectively.
