DORSET Wildlife Trust is holding events in Weymouth and Portland for Easter.
They include fun and games at Lorton Meadows nature reserve and the Fine Foundation Chesil Beach Centre. There will be Easter egg hunts and fun, family-friendly activities giving people the chance to know the wildlife of the meadows or the beach.
At Lorton Meadows, the fun starts on April 2, with Caterpillar Kids mornings, a chance to discover everything from ponds, tracks and signs or owls, plus craft and games. Easter Egg Trails in the afternoons takes youngsters around the reserve, following the clues for a tasty egg reward.
At the Chesil Beach Centre, activities start on March 29 and range from a seaweed safari to marine arts and crafts, with two Easter egg hunts for real eggs of marine creatures. Nicky Hoar, communications officer at Dorset Wildlife Trust, said: “This year we have more events than ever before for families to get up close with the wonderful nature of Weymouth. “No need to choose between the beach and the meadow events, why not try an activity at both these fantastic centres and wake your family up to spring?”
