Farsley stop the rot
Farsley put a disappointing run of three defeats behind them when they picked up a point on the road with a 2-2 draw at Radcliffe Borough.
Their poor recent form has seen them slip from a play-off contenders to mid-table obscurity in the Evo-Stik Division One North but they were disappointed not to come back from Lancashire with a win.
It was an even game against former Bradford Park Avenue manager Benny Phillips’ Boro and the first half finished in a blur of activity. From Ben Wharton putting the home side into a 38th-minute lead to Adam Priestley’s equaliser on the stroke of half-time, all four goals flashed in.
Matt Chadwick was Boro’s other scorer and Ryan Harrison had scored for Farsley before Matty James, on loan from Avenue, set Priestley’s leveller up. Both sides had chances to win the game in the second half and the contest went right down to the wire.
Farsley boss Neil Parsley said: “I thought we deserved all three (points) because we had them penned back for long spells, in the first half especially. But we couldn’t pass through them.
“Matty has joined us for a few games to get his match fitness and he played well, after good work from him Adam had a tap in really. Ryan took his goal well. It was a decent performance but we didn’t get the win.”
