Bingley Bees take time to hit peak form
5:50pm Wednesday 6th March 2013 in Sport By Sports Desk
An early pushback time did not seem to suit either side but high-flying Bingley Bees finally got the better of mid-table hosts Huddersfield Dragons Fifths 2-0.
Goals from Dennis Valentiner-Branth and Ben Clough left the Bees third in Division Six North of the Yorkshire League.
The first few minutes were riddled with errors but as Bingley settled they went close to scoring through Robbie Manning before Valentiner-Branth powered in the opener just before the interval.
The visitors continued to have the better of the match but it was not until late in the second half that they finally sealed victory when Clough converted from a penalty corner.
The Bingley women’s first team beat visitors York University 5-3, while the seconds lost 2-0 at University of Leeds Fifths.
