Albion Sports must cash in this season
Albion Sports boss Kulwinder Sandhu took advantage of the club’s recent mini break to jet off to India for a week’s holiday because he expects a hectic time between now and the end of the season.
Sports’ fixture list had a hole in it last Saturday after they and Bradford Park Avenue, who share Horsfall Stadium, were handed home games by their respective leagues.
Sandhu said: “We asked the Northern Counties for an alternative fixture but all the clubs we still have to play away from home were already fixed up so we had to sit it out.
“It’s frustrating when we are behind all the other clubs up at the top end of Division One with us in the number of games played but it gave me the chance to book a week away around the football.
“I was back before we played Pontefract at home last Wednesday, and that was an important win.
"With the weather problems in December and January, all the clubs have a backlog but with us playing second fiddle to Avenue where Horsfall is concerned, ours is a bit worse.
“Games will be coming thick and fast now and we have to be ready for them.
“We had a lot of games in hand over the promotion chasers last season but it worked against us and we lost out. We can’t let that happen again.”
