BRADFORD No 1 AA

The first Raskelf Winter Series match on Sunday was won by Fred Prudham with 18lb 6oz of roach and ide on waggler and maggot. Howard Foster caught F1s, skimmers and ide for a weight of 10lb 9oz and second place, while John Walsh caught 6lb 4oz for third. The next and final match of this year’s series takes place on Sunday, March 24. Widdington Hall will be closed on Saturday for an outside booking. Members are requested not to rest anything against the otter fences at Raskelf, Knotford and Ripon due to damage being caused. Shelf Dam and Chellow Dene are both worth a visit this weekend for roach and chub. Tickets are available for the open match at Cowthorpe on Sunday, March 10 from Simon on 01274-571175.

BRADFORD CITY AA

The coarse river season has only two weekends left until the March 14 close. Levels are now normal and venues are worth a visit. Brampton Farm on the River Ure is producing some good nets of dace, roach and perch. Chub are also being caught, ranging from 1lb to 5lb, and a specimen barbel of over 8lb has also been banked. Worm, maggot and bread are the best baits at the moment. The result of the latest open match at Brampton Farm is: 1 R Walton (Harrogate) 8lb 10oz (one barbel), 2 M Prudoe (Mary’s Tackle) 1lb 2oz (one chub). The last match of the 2012/13 river season is on Sunday at Brampton Farm. This is an open match. Tickets are £15 all in. For further details call match secretary Rod Brooksbank on 07875-275749 or 01423-523368.
