James Hanson targets Bradford City return to Wembley

James Hanson is backing City’s Wembley experience to give them the edge for the play-offs.

The Bantams are eight points off the League Two top seven but with two games in hand – three on some.

Hanson is determined to make up for the club’s Capital One Cup final agony by returning to the national stadium for a promotion showdown – and he believes Sunday can help.

The big striker said: “We’ve still got a chance of the play-offs and you’d probably fancy us if we get to the final after the experience of playing here.

“We’ve got to focus on tomorrow now (against Dagenham) because it’s a massive game. Quite a few results went for us at the weekend.”

Hanson will cherish his runners-up medal but reckons the size of City’s achievement in going all the way will not kick in for a while yet.

He said: “It will probably only be when you’re sat at home watching the final next year and all the build-up. Then you’ll think back and remember ‘we were involved in that’.

“All of the lads were superb to get this far and we knew what to expect. But Swansea were the best side we’ve played this season.

“The gaffer had written on the board before the game that we’ve got nothing to lose and everything to gain. But maybe we gave them a bit too much respect.

“We knew their front three would cause us problems. They are that clever at exploiting the space and made it very difficult for us. They were just running rings round us all over the pitch.”

Hanson was overawed by the level of City support and joked: “I probably knew about 10,000 of them!

“The fans have been magnificent and hopefully we can get promotion to put the seal on a very good season.”

.Over to you Jimmy you have a major part to play (I'm sure you don't need any Bradford City fan to tell you) but you really do need to start putting more of your chances away as well as your overall contribution to the team, come on Jimmy 15 games left a return of 10 goals would be a massive improvement.

We need about 28 points to reach the play offs and have 15 games to get them.
Even at the beginning of the season when we were playing reasonably well in the league with no thoughts of Wembley to distract us it took 17 games to reach this target.
One thing for certain is that we will need to improve dramatically on the last 15 games in which we have only picked up 19 points

It's hard to see where the goals are going to come from, unfortunately.
