Quest Taekwondo came home with seven medals - two gold, two silver and three bronze - from the sparring and a gold medal in patterns at the Children’s International Taekwondo Championships in Germany.

Throughout the event in Stuttgart, 11-year-old Daniel Sparkes from Greengates was impeccable in taking gold by 14-11 in the final over a Lithuanian opponent after winning his quarter-final and semi-final against fighters from the host country by 10-0 and 6-0.

Following Daniel’s victory, fellow Quest member Luke Jones, 11, from Penistone also took gold.

After taking bronze last year, eight-year-old Zac Spencer from Baildon pulled out all the stops to take silver, defeating a German opponent by an impressive 20-0 in the last 16 and a Czech Republic foe 11-4 in the last eight before losing to a host fighter 4-2.

Gary Watt, ten from Greengates, won his semi-final 6-0 against a Greek before losing his final 10-4 to a Swede.

Rebecca Weir, 11, from Baildon, took a bronze, as did Liam Burdock, ten, from Silsden.

Silsden's Jamie Kidd won gold in patterns after performing Pal-Jang (technical demonstration for red belt-black-tag), Koyro (technical demonstration for 1st Dan black belt) and Taebek (technical demonstration for 3rd Dan black belt).
