Bradford Bulls: I'm only going to get better, roars Jarrod Sammut

ROARING FORTY: Jarrod Sammut scores one of his two tries in the Bulls’ 40-6 thrashing of Wakefield
Jarrod Sammut has geared up for Friday’s crunch clash at Hull FC by declaring: “The best is yet to come!”
The Bulls stand-off enjoyed an outstanding game in Sunday’s Super League opener at home to Wakefield and combined superbly with Brett Kearney.
The Malta international scored twice against the Wildcats and was instrumental throughout as the Bulls romped to a 40-6 victory.
The resounding success has set Francis Cummins’ men up nicely for the tough test that awaits them at the KC Stadium.
Asked whether he felt he had hit top gear against Wakefield, Sammut said: “No, I think there’s still plenty more to come.
“Not everything came off last week and things weren’t perfect, but this is probably the best I’ve felt for a while.
“I just need to keep taking care of myself and making sure I’m right each week.
“Hopefully by doing that I can keep being consistent and producing more performances like I did last weekend against Wakey.”
Sammut endured a stop-start debut campaign last year, suffering cruel luck with injuries, but ended it on a high with four tries during the final-round defeat to Catalan Dragons in Perpignan.
With Ben Jeffries having retired, and Luke Gale set for another month on the sidelines, Sammut’s partnership with Kearney has taken on added importance.
The 25-year-old reflected: “I’m one of those players who has a pretty kamikaze style and I expect to get some sort of niggles, but last year I got some really serious injuries.
“But this year I’ve been working really hard on my prehab and rehab to make sure I’m fully fit.
“We’re missing Galey, which is a bit of a blow, but BK has stepped forward and we’re really putting together a strong partnership.
“Everyone else is jumping on the back of that and it’s making our jobs a lot easier.
“At the moment things are coming off.
“Franny has really been on my case to make sure that I support play and am always in the right position.
“It’s something I’ve worked hard on because when you’re in the right place at the right time, things pay off.
“It’s always good when you see a bit of space and you’ve got to back yourself.
“Luckily enough for me, I got through to the try-line on a couple of occasions last weekend and I was really happy with that.”
The Bulls face a sterner test of their play-off potential at Hull on Friday and Sammut added: “This year we have really come together as a group and said ‘if we don’t make the eight then we’ve definitely underachieved’.
“We left everything on the field against Wakefield, there was nothing left at the end of the eighty minutes.
“It was just a great start to the season for us – the first home game, two points and we couldn’t have asked for more.
“But we need to go and do it all over again at Hull now.”
Sammut picked up a minor knock on his calf against Wakefield but looks certain to be fit to face Hull.
Prop Nick Scruton suffered a blow to the face during Sunday’s game but is similarly hopeful of being available for Friday’s encounter.

I am sure the crusaders will be delighted by this revelation after he won the clubs "hide and seek" champion last year.

lets not get carried away, we beat a very weak wakefield side, the tough test will be against hull who will be stepping it up after their defeat against leeds. gale's injury is a blow- i cant believe all this damage was done to his ankle just from clowning about jumping from a window ledge while with in hotel with england knights
I agree hull will be tougher, but it was still a very good performance on Sunday, Still could do with cover at prop, but the ones we have look able to match any teams.

Just like Sheffield is coming for the coward Alfucham. Wouldn't mind a ticket for that one. Alfucham, have you arranged a date yet? Or will you just carry on hiding behind your keyboard.
So goodbye for now. Watch your backs, because I'm coming back.

Just you run along to work and pay some more tax for my trip to Wembley to see the mighty BANTAMS

Sammut and Kearney look to be working well together, as the Leeds and Wakefield games showed. But credit has to go to the pack for dominating opposing pack, thus allowing the halves to supply the outside backs with plenty of ball. Sammut is the type of player every club needs, he his unpredictable in what he does on the field. Foster doing a fine job at full back and with his goal kicking. Though a major test is this Friday at KC stadium.

I assume most people would drop Platt for Purtell, but who would you drop (if anyone) for Gale with Foster, Kearney and Sammut all playing as well as they have been?

Here's a thought, if Gale and Purtell come back at the same time (If I remember right Purtell's back early March and Gale's out til then now with the latest lay off) and teh rest of teh team keep playing as they are, who do you drop?

Please Please seek urgent help ,before you turn into a complete TROLL getting attention now will save us from a lifetime of your drivel, please read the below as this is an description of how we see you...Let's talk about intentional trolls.
Some are motivated by political, financial, or ideological gain. For example, political trolls participate in forums run by opponents to disrupt them. Sometimes this takes the form of a concern troll, a person who appears sympathetic to the cause being discussed but who is actually trying to sow doubt among the believers. In 2006 a Republican Congressional staffer was forced to resign after he posted to liberal blogs as a Democrat who thought the party should fold in the contest for his boss's seat.
How about financial and ideological trolling? Trolls posted falsely about a corporate buy-out at Yahoo Finance that caused an immediate 31% gain in the stock of telephone equipment company PairGain. The hoax was quickly exposed and the stock deflated. Wired claims that anti-Scientology protests sometimes take the form of trolling. We're all familiar with Linux trolls who disrupt Windows threads, and Windows trolls who disrupt Linux discussions.
Then there are the cases of astroturfing, also called astrotrolling. Whole Foods CEO John Mackey was caught doing this. His anonymous self "quickly became an outspoken regular on the board, praising and defending Whole Foods with the equally enthusiastic virulence used to attack and shame the company's competitors and nay-sayers."
Trolls sometimes defame individuals. One victim was the late 60 Minutes commentator Andy Rooney, whose name was signed to a racist rant he didn't write. Another was John Seigenthaler, eminent journalist and former Kennedy aide, who was implicated in the Kennedy assassinations by a false Wikipedia post. The perpetrator was caught. Few of us non-famous folks would have had the resources to counteract such "Internet character assassination." Some trolls even mock the dead and deface online memorials.
Claire Hardaker explores the psychological motivations of trolls in her Ph.D. thesis Trolling in Asynchronous Computer-Mediated Communication. She concludes that "trolls intention(s) is/are to cause disruption and/or to trigger or exacerbate conflict for the purposes of their own amusement."
Dr. Tom Postmes, Dutch professor of social psychology and book editor of Individuality and the Group, has a contrarian take. He argues that instead of contravening social standards, trolls conform to them. It's just that the social standards to which they're attuned are specific to a certain web subculture.
Another way to consider trolling from is Dr. Phil's viewpoint: People only engage in repeated behavior if it pays off for them. What is the pay-off for trolling? Experts and online discussions cite:
Attention and recognition, even if negative
The emotional release of venting
Power (the power to disrupt)
Vandalism
The thrill of breaking social conventions
Sabotaging groups the troll dislikes
Immaturity
Intentional trolls brag that they do it for the lulz. Their braggadocio usually masks these reasons.
