England women’s international Kathryn Leng is coaching at the Cricketing Masterclass next Tuesday at Challenge College (3.30pm-4.30pm).
The former Woodhouse Grove all-rounder represented both Yorkshire Bank (JCT600 Bradford League) and Bradford-Leeds in the men’s game and had a top score of 144 for England women against New Zealand in 1996.
Pudsey-born, Leng captained England Under-19s before making her senior debut in a one-day international in 1995.
Leng is believed to be the first woman to play in the JCT600 Bradford League and also became the first woman to play inter-UCCE cricket in 2001.
She was dropped from England's one-day squad in 2002 after taking an unauthorised holiday in Tenerife, although she was recalled for the 2003 tour for Australia, playing in her last Tst match in that series in February, 2003.
