Ricky Ravenhill column: It’s so surreal to be talking about going to Wembley and it still hasn’t sunk in yet.

It’s something that will go down in history and probably never happen again for a long, long time.

But as you try to step back and look at what we’ve achieved, you think of all the little things that went our way during the cup run.

Going all the way to the final shows the never-say-die attitude within the squad. Even when we’ve been losing and seemingly on the way out, we’ve refused to give up.

You also need that little bit of luck at times – I remember the Notts County game when their lad missed a sitter on the line. If he’d scored then, we would have been out in round one!

But we have more than earned our place. To beat the likes of Wigan and Arsenal was fantastic but they were one-off games – to come off better against another Premier League side over three hours of football as a team in the fourth tier is an unbelievable achievement.

We weren’t lucky to get past Aston Villa. It was only the first half on Tuesday night when they dominated, otherwise we more than matched them.

Big James fully deserves all the accolades for his goal because he’s had a great season first and foremost.

Strikers go through spells when they don’t get on the scoresheet but he has always pulled his weight in the team. Even if the goals dry up for a bit, he puts in so much and is such a big player for us.

Hopefully now he’s scored again, he’ll go on a run when he can do no wrong in front of goal. And it would be brilliant if he could do it again in the final.

It will be such a special day for the fans as well. They’ve turned up year in, year out and a bit of success has been a long time coming.

The whole of Bradford is going to come to a standstill that day. Everyone will want to be down at Wembley or watching the match somewhere.
