Amateur Colin Peace missed out on the top prizes during the trip of a lifetime to compete in the United Arab Emirates.

The 22-handicapper, who plays at Willow Valley near Brighouse, and 14-handicap partner Malcolm Crowson, from Leeds, finished fifth in the pairs competition of the prestigious League to Dubai grand final in Dubai.

The all-expenses-paid trip was a reward for battling through a local league and regional final last year.
