Leeds Rugby’s groundsman Ryan Golding has been awarded the Institute of Groundsmanship West Yorkshire-Leeds branch’s award of merit for 2012 at their annual meeting at Cleckheaton Sports Club.
Ryan is responsble for maintaining not only the rugby pitch at Headingley but also the training ground at Kirkstall.
A photograph was presented on behalf of the branch by guest speaker Keith Boyce to branch secretary Rod Heyhoe in recognition of him winning the Volunteer Sports Groundsman of the Year at last year’s IOG awards.
And Keith Johnstone received a set of scarifier blades from the branch as a token of thanks to him and John Hawksworth, both of Cleckheaton Sports Club, for all their support.
