Fantastic news all round. Now we can work towards promotion with a possible trip or two to Wembley thrown in for good measure! ;-)

Great decision Phil, thanks for the best season so far in years!!

This guy is turning out to be a one of my favorite managers since I started supporting city as a teen over 20 years ago. So relieved about this and well done parky you made the right choice. Hope city can give u a decent deal now as you deserve it fella.
Now let's try keep hold of Nakki.

Great news from PP, we need to keep him and let him build a settled team (hard with the way loans are used these days!)which from a settled club comes.
i feel a great spirit this season, the first time since the fantastic season that ended with a 3-2 win at wolves and a place with the elite!
lets hope the eye isnt taken of the ball with the cup run, afterall promotion has to be the main objective....but still the 3-1 win over Villa was a memory we will all cherish!
heres to wembley twice! and if it has to be a third in the playofgf final! automatic places are in our grasp and not beyond this team though!

Thanks Phil. Always thought he was the manager we needed even before his appointment and when there was speculation about him coming to us but he's probably already achieved more than we dared hope. This half season alone has helped to ease some pretty painful and barren recent years.

Time for the club to repay the faith that Phil and his team have shown in us and reward him with a good deal, with some security and a pay rise!

Your right, and he has taken notice of the weaknesses that were shown against villa with the cances they made ( and missed! lol) hence the defensive loan signing made. andy Gray, who he wanted at the start of the season, will give our younger strikers a rest and help focus the mind as well as relieve some of the pressure, It really is looking good.

Ill take promotion ahead of winning both cups anyday.

Just half the passion and commitment shown against villa would most Lilly result in automatic promotion. It's been said before though that teams coming to us see it as their cup final, this will now be exasperated by our cup triumphs. Rochdale were singing are you arsenal in disguise ( in amongst the other disgraceful chants).

That's the only issue I can see with regards promotion. The team are defiantly good enough to gain promotion.

Thanks Phil. That is such an important decision that has gone our way at this moment in our progress. The Chairmen don't have to go back to the drawing board again after another short managerial stint.

My nephew said to me he thought that PP should be the man before he was even mentioned as a candidate. Got to admit I was totally ignorant of PP's previous record as a manager.

Great news. Hopefully something can be sorted quickly. I think many of us have been anxious today about any move from Blackpool as surely they can offer more money than BCFC. However, the word is that the Oyston family who own the club, make it a difficult club for any manager at Blackpool. Bradford can move up the leagues in the next few years, Blackpool will be lucky to stay where they are!
Finally, I don't come on the site often as it can be very negative with frequently the manager and his assistants( be it McCall, Jacobs, Jackson, Parkinson ) getting slagged off by self opinionated 'know all' .It would be interesting to see what some people hiding behind a tag name were writing a year ago about Parkinson.
Everyone manager needs time and support from the board and supporters. Parkinson could have gone today so can we give him some respect too ......even when results are not great! He seems like a good one so enjoy whilst he is here!"

Whatever your comments COCKerel, if it's negative, tell your best mate, don't post it on here! We need positivity! Times at the moment are great! We need to breed these, promotion, one or two cup finals, and possibly a third trip to Wembley but I'd much rather finish in the top three! Must admit I was surprised that Blackpool wanted to speak to him. While he is doing a pretty good job this season, is it impressive enough to attract interest from a Championship club with ambitions of making the play offs; in my opinion certainly not.

With the expansive game that Blackpool played under Holloway, and the type of football that O'Driscoll likes to play, then I would've thought they'd be a pretty good match.

Having said all that, I'm pleased that Parky has turned them down, which hopefully should be a pre cursor to him signing a new contract.

While others have talked of the club's potential, I think he is the first manager to fully understand the pain and frustration the chairmen and fans have felt over the last few years, which makes us all the more determined to have something to celebrate again. This is with the exception of Stuart who was too emotionally involved for obvious reasons.

Need to put the euphoria of the cup to one side though, as we've two crucial games coming up before the 2nd leg; lose them both and we could be a few points adrift from the play offs.

You would quite happily take a point at Port Vale, so it's imperative that we beat an improving Oxford side, who still will have ambitions of gatecrashing the play offs.

Common sense prevails why join a club that has sacked 2 managers already this season. Parky knows this is his club with his players he built it and wants to be part of the future. Both Chairmen have been great so far complete the task sign him up and we will reap the benefits. As for Nahki he would be well advised to wait until a bigger club comes in for him cos Luuds and Hudders aint going to go up and could hardly break the bank in wages or fees.
