Farsley AFC 2, Radcliffe Borough 0
Farsley consolidated their fifth place in Evo-Stik Division One North with a comfortable home victory over struggling Radcliffe Borough yesterday.
New signing Brice Tiani got off to the best possible start and endeared himself to the Throstle Nest faithful by opening his Farsley account after just eight minutes.
When a Boro defender slipped, Dave Stead found himself with just the visitors’ keeper to beat as he netted Farsley’s second just after the half-hour.
There were also very presentable chances for Adam Muller and Chris Walton but Farsley did not add to their lead.
Boss Neil Parsley said: “It was a good win and performance. We were better in the first half than the second but we played well and worked their keeper. They hit a post late on but that was their only real chance.
“We signed Brice from Thackley on Thursday and an early goal settled him down, he worked hard and linked up play in midfield.
"It will take him a while to get used to our style of play and his new team-mates but he can be very pleased with his debut.
“Another bonus is that we don’t have any fresh injuries from this game as we look towards Tuesday’s League Cup tie.”
