Silsden suffered a third consecutive postponement yesterday when their home game in the North West Counties League Premier Division against AFC Blackpool was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.

It denied the Cobbydalers a chance to get the home win that would have seen them leapfrog their visitors.

They have one last chance to take points in November when they travel to Bacup Borough on Wednesday.

It has been a frustrating time for the Cobbydalers, home and away. yesterday was their fifth postponement out of the last seven scheduled fixtures.

The situation has caused them to lose their momentum as they have lost all of their last four starts - two in cup competitions and two in the league.

The last time the Cobbydalers tasted victory was when they banked three points from a 4-0 home success against Ashton Athletic back on October 20.

Since then Silsden have tumbled out of the top half of the table and are currently a disappointing 15th.
