Bradford City boss Phil Parkinson in race against time

Phil Parkinson is seeking a player who is not cup-tied
Phil Parkinson admits it will be a tough battle to land an extra recruit before the 5pm loan deadline.
The City boss has been given the green light by the board to make another temporary capture.
Parkinson put in several calls yesterday but faces the added obstacle of finding a suitable player who is not cup-tied.
He said: “We’re exploring a few options and we’ve spoken to other managers and agents.
“We may get someone in but only if we feel he will add to what we’ve got. We’re not looking just for the sake of it.
“It’s difficult because managers are reluctant to let players go at this moment because of the busy period coming up.
“We’ve also got the situation where three of our next five games are in the cups. So ideally we’d like players who could feature in those.
“From the player’s point of view, they might not want to come here if they know they will hardly be able to play in the next two weeks.”
Parkinson may not necessarily go for a centre half despite John Egan’s sickening injury which cruelly ended his stay from Sunderland.
The City chief added: “We’ve got Rory (McArdle), Carl McHugh, Doyley (Nathan Doyle) and Tom Naylor who can play in there as well. But if someone comes up which complemented that then we’d certainly look at it.”
Egan has been moved back to the north-east after spending Tuesday night in Bradford Royal Infirmary. He is now in hospital in Darlington and faces an operation at the weekend.
The Irish defender said: “I just want to thank the fans and the staff for all their support. All I can remember getting in the ambulance was hearing all the noise of the fans, it was amazing.”
Meanwhile, City had around 700 tickets left for the Arsenal clash after the first day of sales to ticket-stub holders. They are expecting a sell-out crowd of more than 23,000 for next month's Capital One Cup quarter-final having re-opened the top tier of the north-west corner.

If the reporting is correct. Tom Naylor was a substitute in The League Cup ( Carling Cup).. So I am assuming he is Cup Tied for The Arsenal Match ?..
*
If I recall correctly--Forsyth was originally a Defender. On each occasion I have watched him --It looks like he is out of position. I do not see him as a Winger. I feel he could be better up front next to Hanson. With Wells tucked in behind those two.
Failing that idea, Forsyth may play better mid-field, or in a Centre Back area. Because of his height --he is very difficult to attack -or-defend against. Perhaps these options could be tried in training?..
*
Totally agree Egan was showing signs of being a very good/useful player. I wish him a speedy recovery. When he recovers I would like to see him back at Bradford City.
*
Further maximum support to 'Parky' and The Management--in resolving the Player Recruitment before 5 pm. Can 'Parky' still obtain players in an emergency--beyond the deadlines??

Play the kids in the "Paint Pot Trophy" (We must have some?!)....We only have a 5% chance of beating Arsenal .....And frankly the FA Cups a 50/50 chance.
SO...All will be sorted in the next 2 weeks. Leaving us to the "LEAGUE" which is ALL IMPORTANT...
We have been down the "Loan" road so many times...AND IT DOESNT WORK!!

We are forced to play 6 of our regular starters from league matches in this aggravating, distraction.

The way we are going playing 6 regular starters will be impossible! It takes the mick when arsenal will come to VP and play a comepletely different team to their previous prem outing. The JPT needs to get over itself and realise what it actually is, a reserve team comp.

Loans can and DO work. Ask Grimsby if Hannah and Neilsen should have been sent back their parent clubs; Ask PP if loaning Andrew Davies and Will Atkinson was a bad thing.
You are a simpleton Yawn with no ability to look objectively at anything to do with Bradford City. You still can't bring yourself to admit that you have been wrong about PP; please get back in your boat and row away.

i hope we get a win against these, It really does make you realise how well we are doing in all competitions this year and how well parky is Managing where others could just crumble. Sat might have been a flat performance but it was 1 nil at home to keep us in the race at the good end of the table.
Mark Mcgee said,
And the manager knows that Bradford will provide another tough test for his side.
“They play a straight forward 4-4-2 like Port Vale and they are strong in certain areas.
“We have to just get the best we can out there and find a way of inflicting some pain on them. We have ability in the group training this morning and they have to step up .”
time to dust off his dimond for the 10th time this season and catch them out!
