A terrible shame for the lad who looks a decent footballer at our level. Let's hope that there are no long term consequences for his career. I thought that, by and large, we coped well with Plymouth's spirited efforts in the second half even though our "shape" disintegrated from time to time. Even our supposedly "weakened" back four looks a half decent unit. Once again results at the top in our favour showing that anyone can beat anyone - and do !

Huge shame for John Egan. Looks a really talented lad. Hope you get back playing as soon as is physically possible. And thanks for the effort you put in, for the few games that you played with us... With a bit of luck, City MIGHT get promoted, and it would be really nice if the football league could get a promotion medal to Mr. Egan IF we do, as a sign of our appreciation...but If we don't, we don't.

Our system relies totally on the wide players. Our full backs (Saturday aside) had begun to help out and get involved in the attacking side of things. Meredith in particular was proving a useful attacking outlet. However once we scored they reverted to staying back, probably out of instruction. It worked but i'd have preferred it if we had finished them off.

Overall we are in a great position and if we can in there untill the players get back then who knows.

But agree that Hanson is feeding off scraps. Nakhi hasn't lookedthe same in these last two games neither and i feel its the way things have panned out injury and personnel wise factoring in. But we need to keep allowing the full-backs to support the wide players who need to deliver more or at least attempt to do so......

Hanson had a great chance last night, a ball whipped in at pace for him to attack no challenge and what happened?? Well it wasn't even on target. I appreciate he brings a lot to the team but he does have to start burying chances like that. Even the manager has come out and said he will also be judged on goals as well. Saying that we do play with slightly more purpose with him in the team

I felt that Connell was more tricky for the Plymouth defence to handle than Nakhi. Perhaps rest Wells, and use him as the 70th minute impact sub for a couple of games?
I guess Plymouth must feel a little unlucky, in the second half they offered more than Exeter did on Saturday.

A really sickening injury to Egan no doubt affected last night's team performance. He's been a rock in his short stay at the club and I hope he is able to resume what should be a bright career.

As stated by other posters Hanson can't buy a goal and Wells has lost his fizz. As there's no pressure on either in terms of competition for places, I'd be recalling Hannah. I like Connell but he isn't a prolific goal scorer, whereas Hannah has been in his career, albeit at a lower level. I don't see any alternative as we don't have another natural goal scorer at the club. I can't understand why PP is persisting with Thompson. He's had his opportunities and failed miserably. I don't recall one cross last night and he had minimal input...again!

There is absolutely nothing coming from out wide on both flanks and we're treading water whilst Reid and Hines are fit enough to return. It was great to see Ritchie Jones again and, in the absence of any signings, I'd not hestitate in playing him out wide right on Saturday.

The team has done magnificently given the bad luck with injuries but the current lack of a cutting edge worries me.

OB is playing in America or Canada I think so cant see that.

I hate to start pulling the team apart with the work ethic and belief PP has put into place, but Thompson for me has failed to deliver all season apart from one pot shot at Watford. He looks unfit and disinterested and seems to struggle with even the simplest of passes. Id play Baker instead of him.

Without crosses, Hanson will be a work horse and nothing more. He's had no service for weeks and this coincides with his goal drought.

Can't understand the persistence in whining about bringing Hannah back. If the lad was up to it at this level, he'd be in the team. Parky clearly thinks he's not. End of story. All the Hannah lovers need to let go of the affinity for him being a young eager player, and realise that he simply would not be prolific in league 2!

I'd like to see 2 more loans just to get us to Jan, if we're still in the mix by then, and the season tickets are selling we should be hoping for a few more permanent signings!

I agree Gary Jones by his own high standards i feel has been disapointing with his set pieces in the last two home games.

Interesting to note despite all our defensive injuries and disruptions after ten home league games no visiting team has scored more than One goal.

Says a lot about the lads who have had to "Fill In", long may it continue!

Wimbledon,Stevenage,
Yeovil to name a few to show that any player succeeding at conference level couldn't possibly make the step up.i suppose Meredith us proof of the gulf in class too. After all five hours of football over a full season is obviously enough of a chance. I'm not saying this lad can make it just he hasn't had a chance

In the same vein, he's seen Hannah play in training, in lower leagues and at this level (last season) and has chosen to loan him out! True but in parky's eyes he thinks Thompson is good enough and after watching him all season I can't see what he sees. All I am saying about Ross is in the right team in the right set up I believe he will get goals. I believe he will move permanently to Grimsby and with a bit of luck get them promoted and then he can have crack at this level with a club that wants him. Hope we go up though so we don't have to play him. Did you know the conference holds over ten ex league teams now plus a few have also been relegated from there. The gulf isn't as big as some make out

In addition to what Macca has written, PP publicly stated that Hannah was the best natural finisher on the club's books. In the summer he had the chance of releasing him, but chose to take up the option. It does seem strange, therefore, that he refuses to give the lad a chance.

Personally, I wouldn't start him in front of Wells, but he would have been a great option from the bench in the last couple of games. Wells is either kn4ckered or carrying a knock because he just hasn't been as lively past couple of games. Hannah would be another option.

I'd take 3 points over a good performance everytime, but still a couple of gripes from me.

We scored a number of goals from corners earlier in the season, because we were whipping in a flat ball at pace, and it only needed a touch, so I can't understand why we have seemingly abandoned this successful tactic, in favour of a high, looping, deep delivery, which is a lot easier to defend againgst.

When we also take a long throw near the corner flag, someone should be making a run towards the penalty spot, anticipating that Hanson is going to flick if on, which he does on the majority of occasions.

Connell and Ritchie Jones had impressive cameos, and I believe would've offered Parky plenty of food for thought.

I thought Jones showed more in 10 minutes than Thompson did in nearly the whole game, and if Hines isn't fit, I'd be tempted to play him right side against Rovers.
