Bradford City cup tie moved

City's FA Cup second-round clash with Brentford at Valley Parade will be played on Friday, November 30 (7.45pm).

The tie against the League One side has been moved on police advice to avoid clashing with the Huddersfield v Leeds game the following day.

The FA. cup is traditionally a SATURDAY CUP COMPETITION. This just isn't fair on us the supporters. Theirs is just a League game and it is them that should play on Friday. Ever since FA cup games started being show live on TV, (ok I know its good revenue for lower Lg clubs like ours) teams have been made to play Friday, Saturday, sunday & Monday. In my opinion the FA CUP should take preference over the League games.

This will badly affect the gate. It will be sub 3,000 again. Surely, a 1pm kick off on Sunday would have boosted the attendance.

Yeah, those savages from L666s should be forced to play on Friday, I hope Huddersfield whoop there ****, and L666s get relegated, or and go bust

On Police advice? What's it got to do with them? I understand many of the force will be at the Scum v Scum game, but do we really need a police presence at our match against Brentford?

Fricking joke...!

even on the sat I doubt more than 5000 would have been there and we are playing Brentford who be lucky to bring 500 and as there is no rivalry between city and them I cant understand it. We could have played sunday or even 1pm on sat but on a friday night like someone said above if we get 3000 now I will be surprised and I for one cant make it now due to working.

Ridiculous decision. Why not move the Hudds v Leeds game to 12noon Sunday? That way less pubs ect would be open before?

Alex,
The Huddersfield Town v Leeds United game was originallly to be shown on Friday night on Sky Tv.On Police advice match was moved from Friday night to Saturday lunch time and no Sky Tv

Irony of Ironies!

Ps From reading the comments on here in terms of the crowd it will be Northampton Town revisited!

Having just read the Home Office Statistics for football-related arrests and banning orders it appears the match may have been moved so the WYP can concentrate on Bradford City fans. We were issued with 22 banning orders last year which puts us 3rd behind Chelsea and Man Utd. One less than Leeds and Huddersfield combined. Depressing reading.

What a joke this is.

The game hardly required much of a police presence, as the attendance wouldn't have been particularly large, and there wouldn't have been much of an away following.

One thing is for sure it's going to greatly reduce the crowd with it being played on a Friday, and we couldn't have really switched it to a Sunday as we've got a game the following Tuesday.

Is this on police orders or advice, because if it is the latter, I would revert it back to Saturday, when fans want to see their team play.

Like it or not the police will have the last say on this matter so we will have to live with the decision,I agree with you ricky76 don't think we would attract much more than 5,000 if it was played on the Saturday

Why not move Huddersfield v Leeds to Sunday lunchtime as neither are playing on the following Tuesday. It's ridiculous!!!

On the plus-side it gives an extra day 'til the next game and maybe getting knocked out wold be the best result as opposed to another replay and frees up the schedule a tad without any more injury scares, hopefully.

Going by City's history of FA Cup crowds since they dropped out of the Championship, 5,000 is very optimistic.
