The club would like to state that there is no truth in the rumour that they are about to give up the lease at Pilley’s Dam. Several new watchers have been appointed for this water and volunteers are required to act as watchers on the canal. The match at Newton was disappointing. Result: 1 E Harrison 2lb 14½oz, runner-up P Wood 2lb 1oz. For Sunday’s members’ match at Pilley’s Dam the gate will be open at 8.30am with the draw at 8.45am. Juniors may fish but are not allowed to enter the sweepstake.
