Bradford Park Avenue target play-off position
12:10am Tuesday 30th October 2012 in Sport By Ian Whiting
Avenue's Danny Holland has a neck injury but boss John Deacey hopes he will be fit for tonight
Bradford Park Avenue head to Wales tonight for a long midweek trip to take on Colwyn Bay in Blue Square Bet North.
Confidence is high within the Avenue camp after a run of victories in the FA Cup and league. They moved up to seventh with a home win on Saturday and would move above neighbours FC Halifax Town, and into the play-off places, with another win tonight.
Avenue are ten places higher than tonight’s hosts but will be taking nothing for granted as just seven points separate the clubs.
Bradford boss John Deacey said: “The lads did well at the weekend and we are not bad for injuries but Jordan (Deacey’s son) is struggling and Danny (Holland) has a bad neck.
“Hopefully they will both make it because our squad is stretched enough and there are more big games on the horizon.”
Avenue travel to Doncaster Rovers for a first-round FA Cup tie this Saturday.
Neighbouring rivals Guiseley are also in action tonight as they head to Lee Sinnott’s Altrincham, who are snapping at Avenue’s heels. Sinnott had a spell in charge of Avenue and his current club is just two points behind his former assistant Deacey’s side.
Guiseley dropped to third last night after Brackley won 2-1 at Worcester City to go top.
Farsley, who have re-signed former Avenue and City player Kevin Sanasy, host promotion rivals Trafford in Evo-Stik Division One North.
Liversedge have arranged their West Riding County Cup second round home tie against FC Halifax, who have no league fixture as scheduled opponents Harrogate Town have an FA Cup replay. Dale Johnson returns from suspension for Halifax.
Also in the county cup, Eccleshill United travel to Tadcaster Albion.
