Farsley hang on for point after Josh Radcliffe dismissal
Clitheroe 0 Farsley 0
Farsley had to battle with ten men for three quarters of their trip to Evo-Stik Division One North promotion rivals Clitheroe but they came back with a valuable point.
Centre back Josh Radcliffe was sent off midway through the first half for a foul that denied a goal-scoring opportunity. However, Farsley boss Neil Parsley later questioned the officials interpretation of the rule.
It was a decision that had a huge impact on a tight game. Farsley twice came close to breaking the deadlock, in the first half through Chris Walton and then after the interval when Adam Priestley’s header was well saved, but the home side forced two very good saves out of visiting keeper Tom Morgan.
Parsley, whose side are fourth after this result, said: “It wouldn’t have been a bad result, even with 11 men, never mind ten.
“Josh was sent off after about 20 minutes so it was very much backs against the wall after that, but overall the lads deserved the draw.
“The ref said Josh was last man but I think that is a scandalous decision.
“I thought the ref jumped the gun and acted before he had accessed the situation properly.
“He showed his inexperience.”
