Wrose youngster Archie Kitching shows off his Bambino Kart Club trophy
Archie Kitching may have won one national karting championship for six and seven-year-olds but he is already preparing for his next challenge.
The Wrose youngster is the inaugural Bambino Kart Club champion for 2012 after getting on the podium every time in the eight-race series, which was reward for his diligence and that of mum and dad Nicola and James.
Archie, who is a member of the 4G Kart Racing team based in Ilkley, won four races, finished runner-up in three others and third in the remaining contest to clinch the title by three points.
The Low Ash Primary School pupil, who started in the sport when he was six and regularly practices at tracks all over the country – the nearest round of the Bambino was at Wombwell in south Yorkshire – already achieves speeds of up to 40mph in his 50cc kart.
Now approaching his eighth birthday, Archie is moving up to the cadet class, which is for drivers aged from eight to 13.
