Nottingham Forest 3, Leeds United 1

THERE was another flurry of goals at the City Ground and three more points for Nottingham Forest as Philippe Montanier's side saw off old rivals Leeds.

Forest have now scored 11 goals in their first three home games of the Championship season, following on from 4-3 wins over Burton and Wigan.

Garry Monk's visitors did briefly look as though they might snatch a point when substitute Kalvin Phillips' spectacular 84th minute free-kick made the score 2-1.

This was after an emphatic strike from Pajtim Kasami and a Damien Perquis header had put the home side in control.

But Oliver Burke netted his fourth of the season deep into stoppage time to make certain of another three points for Forest on home turf.

Monk will now use the international break to work on the defensive mistakes he feels are costing his side – and never more so than against Forest.

The Leeds boss said: "We gifted them two soft goals, which made it difficult. In general play we were the better team.

"From the 46th minute they were wasting time and they looked nervous when it came to holding on to their 1-0 lead. But we never really pushed them back.

"We needed to be more clinical, we needed to take our chances. We conceded soft goals and Forest did nothing in general play otherwise..

"We have the international break now and some time for us to work on things, to drill a few things into the players.

"We need to cut out the sloppiness and the individual errors. We have the squad to address this."
