CLECKHEATON finished fifth in Division One of the Yorkshire Team Championship at Bradford as Rotherham romped to an impressive win.
Chris Green carded the lowest round for the Bradford Union Scratch League champions with an afternoon 67 as Cleck finished high up the field in the prestigious 18-team county event staged at the Hawksworth venue.
That came after an opening 73, with Nigel Colbeck (74, 71) and Oliver Tasker (76, 76) the other contributors.
Cleck's final total of 437 was 19 behind winners Rotherham, who finished 12 clear of runners-up Howley Hall (430), with Cookridge Hall (432) and Huddersfield (433) in third and fourth respectively.
Ilkley's team of Mark Buckley (74, 76), Chris Atkins (74, 69) and Jack Lampkin (74, 73) finished seventh.
Reigning champions Bingley St Ives, who were the first Bradford Union club since West Bowling in 1985 to lift the crown last year at Hessle, had to settle for 11th place.
Bingley scorers were Terry Brushwood (72, 76), Andy Town (79, 73) and Dane Bairstow (79, 75).
