IT WAS a case of unlucky 13 for Championship B leaders Townville as their 12-game winning All Rounder Cricket Bradford Premier League run was brought to a halt in a thrilling match at Bowling Old Lane which they lost by four runs.

An unbroken sixth-wicket stand of 107 between Ayyaz Akram (62no) and Bilal Ejaz (51no) was crucial to mid-table Old Lane's success. It helped them post a challenging 231-5, with other useful contributions coming from Adal Islam (37) and Ahsan Butt (34).

Tim Walton (72) and Jonathan Booth (51) gave Townville hope of maintaining their 100 per cent record, while Nadim Hussain (42) gave Old Lane some anxious moments before they bowled out Townville with five balls to go for 227 (Sadaqat Zaman 4-48).

An unbroken sixth-wicket stand of 100 between skipper Graham Hilton (59no) and Jack Seddon (66no) enabled Gomersal to race to a five-wicket win over second-bottom Brighouse with 21.1 overs to spare.
