THERE was a restricted Sunday League programme owing to a number of West Riding County Sunday cup and Sunday county trophy matches.

The majority of Premier division teams had a bye in the first round of the Sunday County cup.

West Bowling were in league action and took advantage to move back into pole position at the top of the Premier division with a 6-1 win at George Hotel.

In division 2A, A.F.C. Titans moved into fourth position when they beat Bankfoot Lions 6-1 and plunged Bankfoot into a relegation fight.

Another battle at the bottom of the division resulted in Turf F.C and Clayton village reserves sharing the points in a 1-1 draw.

In the West Riding Sunday Senior cup first round, Sandy Lane had a convincing 6-2 victory over Cuedos Rangers.

Mathew Cavanagh hit three for the Keighley-based team and Danny Hook bagged a brace while Stuart Cotterill was also on the scoresheet for the winners.

In the Sunday trophy, George United had a comfortable 5-2 victory over Top Club reserves.

With a two-goal cushion at the interval they then added another three in the second half before the visitors hit back with two late goals.

Danny Pattison hit four for the winners and Mathew Gaudison added another.

Grass Greener United had a 4-1 victory over visitors Wrenthorpe Rangers reserves with Andy Howland, Rob Coulter, James Smail and Adam Boocock all hitting the net.

After 15 minutes skipper Craig Wiseman suffered a deep gash to his face after a clash of heads but the home team put that behind them and gained a convincing victory.
