WYKE Wanderers progressed to the next round of the West Riding County Challenge Cup following their 1-0 success at Trinity & All Saints OB.

In a poor game, Ben Bodle scored the all-important winner in the first half and Wyke secretary Dave Ryan said: “The only good thing to come out of the match was our man-of-the-match performance from 16-year-old Declan O'Regan, who made his first-team debut and gave an assured display at centre-back.”

Meanwhile, Field defeated Northowram 3-1 in the West Riding County Challenge Cup.

Chris Wood opened the scoring for Field with a penalty and Nicky Doherty got the second goal before half-time beforeAlex O'Keefe completed the scoring.

Northowram grabbed a consolation goal in the last ten minutes.

Baildon Trinity Athletic have slumped to third from the bottom of Division One after their 4-2 defeat against Kippax.

An unmarked header gave Kippax the lead but Baildon equalised when Sean McVey’s corner was headed into the net by Will Hawksworth.

Trinity had the chance to go ahead when Lee Rands was fouled in the penalty area but McVey’s spot-kick was saved.

Soon after, the Trinity goalkeeper made an error when he allowed a tame shot to slip through his hands to give Kippax a lead.

Louis France danced past three players to equalise but the same player saw his penalty saved by the Kippax goalkeeper.

Those two penalty misses came back to haunt them as Kippax scored twice to secure the three points.

Elsewhere, Matthew Hartley grabbed a hat-trick for Field Reserves in their 7-0 thrashing of Wyke Wanderers Reserves in the Alliance Division One.

Also on target for Field were Liam Lambert, Calum Robinson, Josh Fawthorp and Ben Baker who was also sent off.
