SMART Moves are a point away from claiming the Bradford & District Evening League title after a 41-run win over Thackley.

Younis Bismillah (55no) helped his side reach 145-9, Rob Clayton returning an impressive 5-19 for the hosts, but even that superb bowling performance was upstaged by Mohammed Qadeer, who took 6-13 to restrict Thackley to 104-8.

However, Denholme and Salem Athletic still have an outside chance of top spot after comprehensive wins over Great Horton Park Chapel and Tong Park Esholt respectively.

With one game to play, they need to win their final game and hope the leaders slip up, in which case the title will be decided by averages.

Great Horton Park Chapel, after winning Division Two and the finals day play-off last season, have found life more difficult this campaign and will be returning to the second tier next year.

They are likely to be joined by Tong Park Esholt, who must win their final game and hope that Thackley lose to stand any chance of surviving.

Mayfield and Stonewhite have been promoted from Division Two, with the championship and runners-up spot the only things to be decided.

Mohammed Ali made a half-century as Mayfield racked up 160-2 at early-season front-runners Cambing, who mustered 118-5 in reply.

Gulsheraz Ahmed's 50 not out ensured that Stonewhite are level on points with their rivals as they surpassed John Breare's 113-4 for the loss of just three wickets.

Brandon Waddington took a hat-trick for Buttershaw St Paul's as Shipley Providence made 121-9, Buttershaw continuing their recent fine form with a six-wicket victory, while Indian Panthers moved into third with an 82-run win at Cross Roads & Daisy Hill.
