DANNY Frost will be looking to celebrate his new 18-month contract with a goal tonight as Park Avenue seek a much-needed victory in the Vanarama Conference North.

Bradford are second bottom and even a win against high-flying visitors Chorley would not lift them out of the relegation zone.

Frost committed his future to Avenue just days after the takeover by new owner Gareth Roberts was announced.

The 27-year-old forward has scored ten goals in 24 appearances this term, but has been on a three-match barren streak after a run of four games that saw him find the net six times.

Frost said, “It’s good to finally get my future cemented. With the takeover going through it’s an exciting place at the minute. Obviously with the position we’re in there is a lot of work to do but the lads are all in it together and we have a big buzz at the moment.

“We just want to get out there, hopefully tonight, and get the job done. Knowing that John Deacey, Dru (Martin Drury, assistant) and Pricey (Jamie Price, first team coach) are the management team had a big impact on my decision to commit long term.”

Tonight’s clash with Garry Flitcroft’s Magpies is subject to a 2-45pm pitch inspection.

Chorley got back to winning ways at the weekend to move back into the play-off places.

Avenue are four points below the trapdoor but they have four games in hand on Colwyn Bay, the club that is immediately above the relegation zone.

Elsewhere Albion Sports also have a home fixture as they host Staveley MW in the fourth round of the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Cup.

Albion trail tonight’s opponents in the Premier Division and suffered a frustrating 4-3 defeat at Staveley back in November after having Kamaran Basi sent off after just ten minutes.
