PHIL Parkinson has vowed to get to the bottom of City’s weekend flop and promised: I will sort it.

The loss at Oldham was their third in the last four games – and the Bantams boss was furious at a first-half display that was at complete odds with what he had expected.

But Parkinson is determined to pick his players up in time for their next Yorkshire derby against Doncaster at Valley Parade on Saturday.

He said: “It’s my job to come up with answers and solutions and make sure we go into the Doncaster game a confident and committed team.

“Confidence comes from working hard as a team and as units all around the pitch. That’s where it builds from.

“Any time you get beaten, whether you are Man City or bottom of League Two, there’s always disappointment in the football club. Ours is no different but I will find a solution.”

Parkinson and his staff watched a recording of the match back again yesterday – after the original DVD they were given by Oldham had malfunctioned.

He added: “It’s important to review things again in the cold light of day and decide where we go from here.

“We always have a staff meeting on Monday and go through everyone’s opinions. We need to look at why we were so off it in the first 25 minutes.

“As I’ve said, the real frustration for me was that we had spent Friday showing the lads exactly what to expect. We needed to start quickly and aggressively and did none of that. I need to look at the reasons for why that didn’t happen.”

Oliver McBurnie is still waiting for the green light to go out on loan.

Parkinson wants him to learn the “harsh reality” of football at another club away from Valley Parade after failing to kick on so far this season.

League Two strugglers Hartlepool have inquired about the teenage striker but Parkinson said: “We haven’t made a decision on that yet.

“We did have a call late on Friday from Hartlepool but they were down at Cambridge. We’ll look at it and probably know more this week.”

Meanwhile, Parkinson is thrilled by City’s FA Cup first round draw away to either neighbours Halifax or Chorley.

The City boss, who will be at tonight’s replay at the Shay, said: “It’s a tasty old draw. Obviously we’d like to have been at home but we didn’t want to get someone in our own division.

“Either one of those ties is exciting. You’ve either got a West Yorkshire derby or we’re away to Chorley, where I was born.

“I’ve played there once before with Bury – and we got beaten!”

It will be City’s first FA Cup tie against non-league opposition for 19 years.
