Billy Clarke fired a double as City rounded off their Irish tour with a convincing 4-0 win over Shelbourne this afternoon.

Barring Aaron Mclean, Phil Parkinson fielded his strongest possible side for the first hour. And the gulf in class showed against a home side made up chiefly of youngsters and trialists.

Alan Sheehan scored City’s opener in the 20th minute from the penalty spot after Willo McDonagh handled his cross.

Clarke soon made it two from a pass by the energetic Mark Yeates as the visitors took complete control.

Clarke fired his second ten minutes into the second half after a charge up the field by Andrew Davies.

City switched all 11 players just after the hour and Raffaele De Vita thumped in the fourth from an angle.
