Tadcaster Albion 0, Bradford Park Avenue 3

Avenue looked sharp as they beat a very well-drilled Tadcaster Albion side.

It was Bradford’s second pre-season run-out and they were put through their paces by the home side. The major difference between the sides was Avenue’s lethal finishing when they got a sight of goal.

They went into the half-time interval a goal to the good after a rapid break down the left flank. Martin Drury and Paul Walker combined to allow Drury to pull the ball back into the path of skipper Nathan Hotte and he stabbed the ball in.

Chib Chilaka was one of many half-time changes and he provided the second goal and scored the third. Danny Frost gathered Chilaka’s flick-on before finding the top corner of the net with a shot from outside the area to double Bradford’s lead.

Chilaka then wrapped up the win with a good finish after being found by a neat pass from Walker.

Brighouse Town came back to beat Guiseley in their friendly derby at the Dual Seal Stadium.

A quickfire double after the break saw Town to a 2-1 victory over the Conference North outfit.

The Lions had taken a 34th-minute lead when Danny Forrest headed home a Jake Lawlor cross. Town pulled level with a fierce shot from the edge of the area by Tyrone Gay just into the second half and Ryan Hall steered in what proved to be the winner in the 52nd minute.

Thackley also came from a goal down but they had to settle for a share of the spoils from a 1-1 draw at home to Colne.

Luke Rhodes netted Thackley’s equaliser after keeper Ivan Willis had saved a penalty that prevented the visitors opening up a 2-0 lead.
