Entry to the Pilley's fishery is by the gate only. To validate membership books, they must be signed before going fishing. Only anglers with a membership book are allowed at this fishery.

In the evening match on July 1, owing to the heatwave, vast shoals of fish were just under the surface unwilling to feed. Winner J Harrison caught a bream of 4lb in the closing stages for a total of 4lb 11oz, runner-up was E Harrison with 3lb 5oz. Next Tuesday's match could be the final one, subject to the response.

Last Sunday's match was won by J Storey with two bream for 9lb 4oz, 2 E Harrison 5lb 1oz, 3 A Tabiner 1lb 8oz, 4 A Rhodes 1lb 4oz. These were the only ones to weigh over 1lb. For Sunday's members' match at Newton on Ouse, meet in the lay-by at 8am. The next canal open is on Saturday, July 19.

At Armley, veteran member F Walker had a good catch of small fish, and odd tench are also being caught. For update information, contact Richard at Leeds Angling Centre.

WASHBURN VALLEY

Catch details for week ending June 6 – Day ticket: Fewston 24, Swinsty 9, Thruscross (catch & return) 2. Total fish caught: Fewston 91, Swinsty 13, Thruscross 9. Average per rod: Fewston 3.8, Swinsty 1.5, Thruscross 4.5. The heaviest fish caught was a 5lb 12oz rainbow trout by Victor Pratt using white Fritz. Fewston: Trout feeding on abundant nymph and rising to take emerging fly. Mayfly, Hoppers and Fritz patterns have all taken good trout this week. Swinsty: Wormhas taken trout and perch this week. Thruscross: Wild brown trout feeding below the willows as water levels remain high this week.

BRADFORD No 1 AA

Trevor Hewitt caught 12 chub for 43lb 12oz to win the first round of this year's Calder League. Drennan Barnsley duo Dennis White (28lb 14oz) and Arthur Benstead (23lb 12oz) came second and third, with Mirfield’s Ricky Bonas fourth with 19lb 10oz. The next round will take place on Sunday, July 20. Nun Monkton will be closed on Sunday for a members' match. Beal is fishing very well for bream, with nets of well over 40lb. Queen Mary’s Ponds at Ripon are fishing well for tench to over 7lb on pole and feeder.

Members are reminded that gates should be closed at all times on club waters.

BINGLEY AC

There will be a match at Sunnydale Reservoir on Sunday, July 20, draw 9am. Please ring Tony on 07971-428678 for further information or to book a peg. The Bingley Show will be held in Myrtle Park on Saturday , July 26 and Bingley AC will have an information point on site. Despite low levels, we have had a good number of excellent catch reports from all our River Aire lengths recently.

SALTAIRE AA

We recently lost Terry Marsden, a long-serving committee member and vice-president. Good catches of perch and roach at Tong Park, carp have also been seen cruising the surface in the sun as the lake is free of weed. Work parties continue at Tong Park (Saturdays 9am).

FIELD AC

Result of match at Farview Lakes: 1 P Sedgewick 44lb 4oz, 2 Graham Hall 39lb 12oz, 3 Tony Webb 33lb 8oz, 4 Derek Milner 25lb 8oz. Many thanks to owner Mick for his support on the day. Our next match is on Sunday on the River Don at Sprotbrough, draw 9am on the bank.

CENTRAL AC

Result of our match at the Oakes at Sessay on Sunday, July 6: 1 R Creek 53lb 4oz, 2 J Cooper 41lb 8oz, 3 R Wharfe 41lb 6oz, 4= P Main and S Worley 41lb 4oz. Our next match is at Brafferton on Sunday, July 20, meet at venue 8am, fishing 9am-3pm.

BRADFORD SEA AC

Our next general meeting is next Tuesday at the New Inn, East Bierley (8pm). Potential new members will be made most welcome. At this meeting we will be having a pre-trip meeting for anglers who are going to Culdaff and Rhyl.

HEWENDEN AC

Result of last Wednesday's match: 1 J Harrison 2lb 12oz , 2 N Bower 2lb 9oz , 3 E Harrison 2lb 3oz,. The next Sunday coarse match is this weekend, with a 9am draw in the car park, £10 all in.

BRADFORD CITY AA

The stretches of River Swale around Salmon Hall are producing good catches of chub and barbel. Also worth a visit is the River Ure at Brampton Farm and Lower Dunsforth. The small lake is closed tomorrow for the veterans match. Any member over 60 can participate and places still available. The next match at Lower Dunsforth is on Sunday, July 20.
