Bradford Park Avenue snap up Leeds United midfielder Nathan Turner
6:02am Tuesday 1st July 2014 in Sport
BRADFORD Park Avenue have signed midfielder Nathan Turner following his release from Leeds United.
The Elland Road academy player had been on loan at Conference Premier outfit Chester FC for the previous two seasons.
The 21-year-old said: “Since the age of seven, I’ve played at Leeds United. But, after being released it was time for me to find a new club for the first time.
“After speaking with the manager (John Deacey), he sold the club to me. He spoke to me about the history of the club, the fanbase and the way he likes to play football.
“I’ve played against Avenue for Chester in one of my first appearances at this level, so I know what it’s like to play there, plus I know a few of the players there too.
“I know what it takes to be promoted as I was part of the Chester team that were champions and there’s no reason I can’t be part of another with Bradford.
“I like to think I’m a hard-working, box-to-box midfielder who can screen the defence but also has the energy to help the attackers.”
Turner is the fourth new arrival at the Horsfall Stadium, as the club have already confirmed the signings of Bradley Barraclough, Paddy Miller and Scott Kerr.
Avenue manager Deacey said: “It’s great to finally sign Nathan. He’s a top class player as well as a person, and his never-say-die attitude will be a great asset for Bradford Park Avenue.”
