Bradford City host Coventry in tasty season opener

Bradford Telegraph and Argus: Last season's match at home to Coventry finished 3-3 Last season's match at home to Coventry finished 3-3

City will open their Sky Bet League One campaign with a mouth-watering home clash against Coventry.

The Bantams drew 3-3 with Steven Pressley’s side last season in a powderkeg clash at Valley Parade which saw Nahki Wells grab a hat-trick.

Pressley accused Phil Parkinson’s men of playing football from the “Dark Ages” during last November’s televised encounter and the Sky Blues are guaranteed a hot reception on Saturday, August 9.

City then travel to Morecambe in the Capital One Cup before facing successive away league games at Walsall and Crawley and then another home clash with Peterborough on Saturday, August 23.

There is a short trip to Rochdale seven days later and Yorkshire derbies at Barnsley and at home to Sheffield United on October 11 and October 18 respectively.

The Bantams face Fleetwood away on Boxing Day before facing Notts County at home two days later.

The final home match of the season sees Barnsley visit Valley Parade on Saturday, April 25 before the campaign ends at Crewe on May 2.

Nothing to fear there. I can see no reason why we can't make the play offs. (ask me again in September when all the pre season optimism has gone!)

I will keep reminding you, because you are one of those with a negative mindset who 99% of the time only see doom and gloom. Your postings last season were a good example.

Peter, you will probably remind him of things he also DID NOT say. You seem to be very good at that!

I notice there are 3 mid-week games before Christmas all away at Crawley, M K Dons and Bristol City, not very thoughtful for travelling supporters.
The reverse fixtures are all midweek as well, ridiculous when there are so many local matches that could have been selected for these dates.

Look at the start; that's the same. Middle too.

No easy fixtures in this League but games the team and the fans should relish!.
