Bradford Mutual Sunday School League chairman Nick Spachis has paid tribute to two long-serving officials who have retired from the league's executive committee since the season started.

He said: "Graham Langton and Stewart Roberts have given immense service to the league and they will be sorely missed.

"Stewart, for example, was like the league's oracle when it comes to rules."

Langton was vice chairman from 2001-11, fixtures' secretary from 2010-13 and the league's representative on the Bradford Area Cricket Council and Yorkshire Cricket Association from 2005-10.

He also organised the league's presentation night from 1999-2013, but is still umpires' secretary - a position he undertook in 2012.

Roberts was fixture secretary for 15 years up to 1989, when he was made a life vice-president, and has also been results secretary and sent the league's weekly reports to the Telegraph & Argus.

Langton, who came on to the committee to organise the league's presentation night, was league vice-chairman for almost 20 years.
