James Saltonstall, who was on loan to Bradford Bulls from Warrington Wolves earlier in the season, has been named in Italy's train-on squad for the European Championships.
Young winger Saltonstall, whose mother is Italian, represented them in the 2013 World Cup and played in the Bulls' pre-season friendlies against Hull FC, Dewsbury Rams – in which he scored a try – and Castleford Tigers.
Italy, under coach Paul Broadbent, have named a 39-man train-on squad for their opening game in European Championship B against the Ukraine to be played in Gemona on Saturday, July 5.
