Cononley’s Beth Latham helped Great Britain complete a clean sweep of team event titles at the Canoe Slalom World Cup in Lee Valley today.

She was part of the K1 Women’s team that won gold, along with Fiona Penne and Mallory Franklin, while David Florence followed up his Saturday double in the C1 category by teaming up with Richard Hounslow to help win the C2 team title.

Latham (pictured) said: “It’s amazing to win the K1 Team event, especially on the home course with everyone to support us.

“It feels great to deliver when it matters and go home with a gold. You could hear a lot of noise and it’s a great atmosphere to be racing in.

“I’m moving to Lee Valley next Thursday and really excited about it. It’s the best canoe slalom course in the world, so it’s an honour to be able to race and train here.”

The hosts finished top of the medals table with seven golds and a silver.

GB Canoeing performance director John Anderson said: “In terms of legacy this is probably the best advert that there is from any London Olympic facility in the UK.”
