Halifax Direct are the new leaders of Dales Council League Division A after a comprehensive 126-run win at Baildon.

Batting first, Direct hit an impressive 257, with Naz Khan leading the way on 82. In reply, hosts Baildon were dismissed for 131.

Previous leaders New Wortley, who had hit over 300 on their two earlier outings, were shot out for just 57 by home side Savile Stars.

The visitors had no answer to Mohammed Israr, who returned 7-13 for the Dewsbury-based team, who earlier had set a winning target of 146.

Leeds Sikh (106) moved second in the division after maintaining their 100 per cent record with 64-run win.

It came in a low-scoring affair at home to Pudsey St Lawrence, who were bundled out for just 42 in reply.

Last season’s champions Pudsey Congs (239-5, Mani Amin 85) recorded a second successive victory with a 158-run triumph at home to Adel, who managed just 81 in reply.

Bottom of the table Cookridge (93, Ricky Taylor 5-22) are still looking for their first win. Their latest setback came in the form of a six-wicket defeat at home to Shipley Providence (97-4).

In the final Division A fixture, Tong Park Esholt (179-9) recorded their first win of the season with an 82-run triumph at home to Farnley Hill (97), who are yet to claim their first victory.

In Division B, leaders Bradford Moor (144-4, Asif Mehmood 47) increased their lead at the top to six points after recording a six-wicket win at home to Cookridge B (Andy Hardy 46no, Murtaza Ali Abbas 5-36).

Farsley (107-8, Haroon Mahmood 5-21) made it three victories out of three with a narrow 15-run win at Undercliffe, who were dismissed for 92 in reply.

Drighlington-Whitehall (208-8, Jeremy Gamble 61, Matthew Waller 52) made it two wins out of three with a 35-run success at home to Pudsey Congs, who finished on 173-8 in reply.

Bowlers were in charge at Shipley Providence B. Batting first, Prov were bowled out for 92 (Waqas Abbass 5-26) but visitors Thornbury were tumbled out for just 57 in reply, with Qasim Naqvi returning an outstanding 7-19 for Prov.

The match of the day in Division C saw Crompark (112-2, Shiva Kahn 42no) record an impressive eight-wicket win at home and move 16 points clear of their nearest rivals Drighlington-Whitehall (111-8, Mohammed Samiullah 50no).
