Wilsden motorcycle racer Andrew Lund opened his championship account at Brands Hatch with three podium finishes from three races over the Easter weekend.

Racing in the Tristar R&G Triple Challenge - a support series within British Superbikes - Lund achieved his first podium in the Cup Championship with a third on Saturday, and followed that up with a win in treacherous wet conditions on Easter Sunday, and a second place in Monday's final race.

Riding for TSL Buntons Racing on a Triumph Daytona 675R, the Wilsden man is five points ahead in the Cup Championship going into the races at Oulton Park in Cheshire next month.

Supported by Temp Station Ltd and Harecroft firm Bunton Plant Hire, Lund is also training to compete in the Berlin Marathon in September, alongside his mechanic Nick Matthews.

A club racer himself, Matthews almost lost his life after a horrific testing accident at Oulton Park in June last year, leaving him with life-changing injuries.

The pair are running to raise money for the Air Ambulance Service that saved his life.
