Buttershaw White Star reached their second final of the season when they beat Bradford Sunday Alliance Division 1A side Swaine Green 7-3 in the semi-final of the Bradford & District Sunday Cup at Eccleshill United.
Buttershaw were 4-1 up at the interval and looking like coasting home but Aaron Heywood hit his second of the night after 12 minutes of the second half to get Swaine Green back in the match.
However, the lower division team ran out of steam and White Star scored three more goals.
Heywood did complete his hat-trick in bazaar fashion when the White Star keeper palmed a shot into the side-netting and the ball found its way into the net through a hole. Despite complaints to the officials, the goal was allowed to stand.
White Star were beaten 3-2 in the West Riding County Cup semi-final by Ferrybridge Progressive WMC.
Steve Hollingworth and Alex Cusack scored for White Star.
