More comings and goings at Odsal as Danny Bridge stays and Anthony Mullally leaves

Bradford Telegraph and Argus: Danny Bridge will be sticking around at Odsal Danny Bridge will be sticking around at Odsal

The Bulls have been given a boost after Danny Bridge extended his loan until the end of the season – but Anthony Mullally has returned to Huddersfield.

Warrington back-rower Bridge, 21, has spent the past two months on loan at Odsal and made seven Super League appearances for Francis Cummins’ side.

But Mullally, who like Bridge played for Ireland during the World Cup, has been recalled by his parent club with immediate effect.

Bridge can also be brought back by Warrington at any point under the terms of his loan.

Cummins said: “I’m delighted to have Danny on board for the remainder of the season, he has done really well for us so far.

"He has, at times, been forced to play out of position and has stood up to the challenge on every single occasion. He has worked very hard and I am really looking forward to seeing what he produces in the weeks and months ahead.

“Danny is hugely talented and still very young, meaning he has a bright future ahead of him.

“Hopefully he can continue to develop here and provide us with the level of performance which he already has done over the past eight weeks or so.”

The departure of Mullally is likely to see Cummins step up his bid for new recruits in the front row department.

Meanwhile, the Bulls’ appeal against their points penalty is expected to be heard within the next two to three weeks.

We need class not kids to get us out of this hole.....

I am Sorry to say but I think Mr Green is a chancer with no funds to sort the mess out.

All press releases are non stories that bull the situation up as been normal,
When you go down to odsal the crowds are worryingly low with no atmosphere, the ground is in a poor state, The sponsors are C grade to say the least, the corporate stand is empty, the level of Rugby is s%i$, the coaching is poor.

Loaning players will not cut it, a rapid and drastic shake up is needed.
If not it would be better just be honest about it rather than empty promises.

The biggest and best news story the club can muster is Les Vainokolo is attending Leeds match.

Garbage..

Your right mate! 3 weeks in a Fakir is it so far we need to grab some quality fast. Time is running out the run of games we have does not stand in our favour at the very best I can see us picking up 4 points the rest of the season with our current squad.

Is it a case of the club has resigned itself to relegation? Sad to say but I can not see us getting any thing other that 2 points back at best from the deduction & I can see some real cricket scores being put past us in the next few weeks.

Action needs taking now if we have no real news in the next 2 weeks then I think the question above will have been answered, we are not fighting for survival we are crossing our fingers.

What do you expect. Khan and Co sold this club down the gutter and it won't right itself overnight.

The club could have ceased to exist and your complaining that big bucks aren't being spent on new players.

Surely the club existing at some level is better than it not existing at all.

It all sounds a bit "it's the taking part that counts ish" to me,
If you are not wanting to compete and try be the best then why bother at all,

It is No doubt Khan the fraudster's fault, and the RFL for selling the club to the joke in the first place,

I am happy there is still a club and have supported them all my life,

But they need investment to be any better and whether or not Green has that is to be seen,

You cant applaud effort alone, its the winning that will bring back the good times, (and crowds).

It is negative but its the way it is..

The guy has just got his foot in the door and hasn't been running the place for 2min. Some are expecting too much too soon.
Should he gamble on throwing money at it and find the club fall short but in financial trouble or should he assess the situation and build on foundation that are solid for the future. I know what I'd prefer to see.
To many times the club has been sold down the river for the fast fix.

Bridge is a good player yes we do need some more signings but who is out there clubs will not release players at this time of the year unless big bucks are offered and there are no players out there worth that sort of money
We need the club to be stable and that is what Marc Green is doing you have to walk before you can run.
I am sure things will turn around but give the man some time to do it he as already bought the right people in to help move the club forward there is no easy fix lets back the man COYB

I'm guessing the negative votes are that people want to see the mistakes of the past repeated over and over again. Chase glory and splash the cash and hope it all works out.

He has owned the club for two weeks and some people think he can click his fingers and class players knock on his door two minutes later. There are rumours we are looking down under but this can take a few weeks before it is completed ready to announce in the press. We will be looking and trying but it does take time. Green told us all that he doesn't say what he is going to do. He does it first and then tells us what he has done. I am fine with that but impatient people won't be and it doesn't take long for them to start slagging him off. To buy the Bulls you need the money and also be thick skinned as some people just won't let you get on with it in your own way. It is in his own interest to keep us up as what would we be worth if relegated?

If assurances can't be given, it is difficult to attract the Players we might want?

Yeah, you're right, it's Franny's job. You said:

"Your right mate! 3 weeks in a Fakir is it so far we need to grab some quality fast. Time is running out the run of games we have does not stand in our favour at the very best I can see us picking up 4 points the rest of the season with our current squad."

in response to a post saying that loan players won't cut it. So evidently you're not happy with the loan signings or the fact that all we've signed is Fakir. But think about it, none of the bottom end clubs (London, Wakey, Hull KR, Widnes etc) are going to sell us anyone because the weaker we are, the better for them. That leaves you with the top end clubs. Which player is going to leave a top end club to come to us, a club who at the moment look desitined to drop out of SL, unless it's on a loan basis where they can return to thier parent club at the end of the season? Why would they? and apparently, the loan deals aren't good enough for you. So considering all that I'll ask again, who exactly would you have us sign?

No I wasn't, but some of our player's weren't as good on friday as they have been on other occasions this year. Had we played as well as we can do, I suspect the result would have been different.

"Its not about who I would sign its about who are going to sign to avoid the drop !" Is that not the same thing? You've said the signings/loans so far haven't been good enough to keep us from the drop. So who would you like to see him sign to keep us up, from who's available? In my opinion he's done the best he can out of a very limited pool of available players. I don't expect him to just sit back, but we're very limited trying to recruit mid-season.

And again, yes I can read (as I already said earlier, did you not read that?) Apparently a lot better than you can write/type.

To all you moaners on here.Do you expect Marc Green to wave a Magic Wand in two short weeks to sign star players who are not available.T.V.O.R you are exactly right. These people moaned when we had nobody to take the club on now they are moaning when we have and expect the owner to throw cash around willy-nilly to sign players no better than we have.I remember when the Bulls introduced Brian Smith to the supporters at the Hilton hotel in Bradford when some JOKERS stood up and shouted at him,"we do not want to wait for success we want it now".Brian Smith stood up got his things together and said" if that is the way you want it,I am out of here ".Thankfully he listened to the more sensible people ,ignored the idiots and turned the club around, along with Peter Deakin and the rest of the staff.Incidentally,P
eter Deakin was another one who some of the other idiots did not want. For goodness sake give Marc.Green the chance to right all the nonsense that has gone on in the last few years.Okay,we might get relegated but hopefully he can get the club back in Super League on a more stable footing. To all you who want big signings, who and where are they.Money talks, utter rubbish, why is a top notch player going to throw away a good earning contract to come to a club who do not know which competition they will be playing in next year.Far more chance if the club waits, let the players see progress is being made and then that may entice them.

Axelf,
You are still an idiot. He set the club on the right footing to be one of the most successful teams in Super League in the early years. He got the club to Wembley for the first time in 23 years. He set the standards for Matthew Elliott and Brian Noble to follow, which included Five Cup Finals,Six Grand Finals,Three World Club Championship Appearances. He shaped the careers of M.E. and B.N.If you do not believe that ask either of them.On top of that the staff at Odsal at that time thought the world of him because of his professionalism and friendly manner. Now if that is not enough for you,you are a bigger idiot than I thought,if that was possible. My own personal opinion of you is that you are probably about six years old, your dad is a Leeds supporter and is telling you what to write. No normal grown up adult would write the drivel that you come out with. Now get your homework done and get to bed.

Someone said Green needs to put some money in quickly. Aren't I right in thinking that he won the bid over Lamb because Lamb couldn't put £1m (I think it is this figure) down within a few days to pay us through the season. Green must have done that so please don't say he hasn't put money into our club. Think before you type!

This should have all been sorted as part of his business plan; in the 8 weeks build up to the decision being made by his administrator to award the club to Green, his team should have been in touch with agents to have players on standby to come to the Club should his bid have been successful.

this is what the BPA consortium did and had a number of players ready to come in where we needed them, because as stated on here money talks.

It appears that either Green has none to invest in the club and is happy to let it go down as long as he reclaims his money or that (conspiracy theory time) the RFL awarded the Club to him so that we are one of the two relegated, to safe guard one of their expansion teams.

We had two bidders on the table willing to invest the money needed into the Club and we yet again have ended up with a self proclaimed Rhinos fan not willing to spend a penny.
