Catch details for week ending October 6. Day ticket – Fewston 16, Swinsty 6. Total fish caught – Fewston 58, Swinsty 14. Average per rod – Fewston 4.25, Swinsty 2.3. Heaviest fish caught was a 4lb 4oz rainbow trout by G Fawcett using Montana.
Fewston: Cooler mornings have pushed trout into the deeper water of the old river bed. Fishing intermediate line with traditional wets has caught good sporting trout. Swinsty: Perch chasing multi-coloured spinners, great fun for little fish. Trout taking ledgered worms. Thruscross: Closed season.
The Environment Agency and police are investigating illegal fish transfers at Pilley’s. Anyone with information should contact either of these organisations.

Last Sunday’s match at Pilley’s was won by E Harrison with 8lb (all roach), 2 D Jackson 4lb, 3 G Kitchen 2lb 7½oz.
The last of the Saturday series of open matches at Rodley is on October 19. Reduced membership fees are now £7 for seniors, all other classes £4.

Alan Sugden won the aggregate weight trophy for the seven-match members’ series after winning the final match at Cowthorpe with 17lb 1oz, taking his total weight to 99lb 1oz. Geoff Bass came second on the day with 15lb 13oz and John Leyland was third with 13lb 13oz. The match committee meeting will take place at The Hunsworth on Tuesday at 7.30pm.

To book on for the Langwith match on Sunday, October 20, contact Jason or Bernard as soon as possible. The Langwith match is the last date to renew membership for 2014 at the reduced fee of £10.
The presentation night and annual meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 13 in the Fleece, Clayton. Any current member wishing to propose a new member or any rule changes must notify the committee 14 days prior to the meeting. Any proposals submitted will be displayed in the Fleece by November 1.
There have been several reports of catches of 7-10lb barbel from the middle double bank length.
