A Bradford University-trained physiotherapist and a colleague are to take part in an 86km mountain trek to raise money for the Prostate Cancer Charity.
Gemma Plowright and Laura Proctor fly to New Zealand in November for the challenge. They hope to raise £10,000 over the next six months through fundraising events and sponsorship.
The inspiration behind the challenge is the prostate cancer battle Gemma’s father Richard is fighting. She said: “This month is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. My dad is receiving radiotherapy so what better way to support him and help raise awareness of this disease.”
Gemma and Laura work for Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and Leeds Primary Care Trust.
