SIR – Despite finishing third in the X Factor competition in 2010, Bradford pop star Zayn Malik and his band One Direction have gone on to become the first UK pop group in history to debut at No 1 in the US album chart (T&A, March 22).
Their genre of music might not be to everyone’s taste, but I think we should all raise our glasses in a toast to the five young men for their phenomenal achievement.
